Andrea is Chief Executive of Healthier Futures and has led the organisation since it was formed as Smokefree North West in 2008, through its time as Tobacco Free Futures and the transition from regional tobacco office to social enterprise in 2013.
Tackling health inequalities and promoting being healthy are her key priorities.
Andrea is passionate about innovating and developing Healthier Futures to rise to new challenges and seek business and partnership opportunities across the UK to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives.
Andrea is actively involved in national partnerships – including the Smokefree Action Coalition and Alcohol Health Alliance – and has a keen interest in public health advocacy. She believes the success of the tobacco control advocacy movement can provide lessons for good practice for future partnership work to tackle wider wellbeing agendas.
Andrea was previously Programme Director for Smokefree Liverpool and prior to that was a senior member of the Food and Health and Safety Team at Liverpool City Council’s Environmental Health Service. Andrea was awarded an MBE for her contribution to public health and tobacco control in the North West in the 2015 New Year’s Honours list.
